Located in the Indochinese peninsula, Viet Nam has its center of origin in the Tonkin plain irrigated by the waters of the Red River, a territory that is physically inserted in the great contour of the Chinese area, albeit in a marginal position defined by the name itself. of the residents of the country, the Viêt (from the Chinese Yüeh, with which in ancient China they were generically called the peripheral “barbarian” states). The relationship with China and its millenary civilization contributed to making the residents of Tonkin one of the most organized populations of Indochina: the progressive expansion of the nation subsequently led to the annexation of the ‘ Annam,, up to incorporating the Mekong delta and Cochinchina, united in what has subsequently become the State of Viet Nam. Culturally unified, characterized by deep roots that are lost in the Sinic heritage, the country has imposed its own institutions and cultural matrix everywhere, favored by a notable national awareness, especially in comparison with other Indochinese peoples. This trait perhaps also contributes to explaining the different relationship that has been established in the country with the phenomenon of colonialism and, subsequently, the radical character assumed by the struggles for independence against France first and then the United States. Despite the Vietnamese victory, the withdrawal of the French and American troops was not painless: Viet Nam, in the late 1960s, was hit by a frightening number of bombs, including chemical weapons. All this has undermined the short-term recovery possibilities of the fragile national economy, devastated by fighting and resistance. Starting from 2000, after decades characterized by delicate international relations (not only with the West, but also with neighboring Cambodia and with China, for the possession of some territories along the borders), the country has embarked on a path of relaxation and greater openness. According to COUNTRYAAH, Vietnam is a nation in Southeastern Asia, the capital city of which is Hanoi. The latest population of Vietnam is 97,338,590. CLIMATE
A very large country in latitude (from the Tropic of Cancer to almost 8º latitude N), Viet Nam has climatic variations passing from S to N, however it is generally subjected to the monsoon climate, with rainy summers and dry winters. In winter, however, cyclonic depressions occur in Tonkin which cause precipitation, albeit slight; on the southern coasts, on the other hand, typhoons from the SE frequently hit in summer. The presence of the relief also creates differentiated areas in terms of rainfall and thermal conditions. But apart from these particular and local incidences, the fundamental climatic element are the two monsoon seasons, the rainy summer and the dry winter, with a hot and muggy period that precedes the rainy season. This begins between June and July and lasts until the autumn months; it manifests itself first in the N, then, with the shift of low pressures towards the S, in the southern part (where typhoons immediately occur). Almost everywhere the amount of precipitation exceeds 1500 mm per year, with maximum values up to 4000 mm per year in the central and southern plateaus and minimum values of 1500 mm in the Mekong delta. This area is also the hottest in the country with values that fluctuate between  25 ºC and 28 ºC over the year; in Tonkin, on the other hand, in January there are 16 ºC, in July 29 ºC, values that are explained by the greater continental influences.
