GEOGRAPHY
The state of New York is adjacent to the states of Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut from the east, from the southeast the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania from the south of the state, from the west are lakes Erie and Ontario, in the north it borders with the province of Quebec.
The main part of the area of ​​the state is occupied by the Appalachians, which reach a height of 1628 m in Mount Adirondage. The lowlands are found off Ontario and on Long Island. The climate is humid and temperate.
ECONOMY
New York is one of the most populated and developed states in the US in terms of economy. New York City is a leading city in banking, securities trading and other financial matters. The city’s main gross income comes from real estate and other financial activities.
A lot of other industrial and industrial activities are also developed in the state. Fishing is developed along the coast of the ocean. The transport network is widely deployed. Among the industry, one can note such areas as: the extraction of salt, stone, sand. Production of building materials, abrasives, electrical engineering. Among agriculture – the cultivation of apples, grapes, vegetables, corn, cherries.
From cattle breeding, cows, heifers, bulls and other livestock are bred in New York.
One of the biggest and most difficult problems to solve is the environment, pollution is very high. Therefore, since the 1960s, effective solutions to combat pollution have been constantly taken.
And yet, the leading role of the state, and in principle the whole country, is given to New York, the city. Not every country in the world generates as much GNP as New York alone.
TOURISM
New York City itself has become a major tourist attraction throughout the state. Every year, about forty-seven million tourists from all over the world pass through the city. In the city itself, according to statistics, there are about eighteen thousand restaurants, one hundred and fifty high-level museums, and more than ten thousand shops that have goods from all over the world. The state is so diverse that you can find almost everything in it, even for lovers of mountain holidays there are the Adironadal and Catskill mountains – near them there is a national park – a favorite vacation spot for the residents of the state.
Near the border with Canada there is an incredibly beautiful nature reserve called the Thousand Islands. It has about one thousand eight hundred islands of various sizes. The zone is about eighty kilometers long. This area is one of the favorite places for US divers.
Niagara Falls is popularly called the Honeymoon Capital. In this area is one of the most famous waterfalls – Niagara Falls. Feel all the power and grandeur of nature when you see almost six thousand cubic meters of water constantly pouring from a height.
