Simon Bolivar Andean University. It is the educational institution of the Andean Integration System, SAI, dedicated to research, teaching, provision of services, especially for the transmission of scientific and technological knowledge, and the promotion of the spirit of cooperation and coordination between the universities of the subregion, as well as the strengthening of the principles of the Andean Community. Check electronicsencyclopedia for more universities.

Creation

The Andean Parliament in its Fifth period of sessions, held in the city of La Paz from December 11 to 16, 1985, adopts Decision 132, officially creating the Simón Bolívar Andean University with Headquarters in the city of Sucre of the Republic of Bolivia and it constitutes a commission in charge of the elaboration of the Statutes and Regulations of the University.

Organic structure

1- The Andean University works in a decentralized manner in all the countries of the Andean Community. The governing bodies and authorities of the University are the following: a. The High Council. b. The President of the Superior Council. c. The Academic Council.

2- In each country where the university is established, the authorities are: a. In Bolivia, the rector of the Central Headquarters; and in each of the other countries, the rector of the National Headquarters. b. The Academic Coordination Committee of the headquarters.

3- In Bolivia, the local academic venues are part of the Headquarters, and in the other countries they are part of the respective national headquarters. For its academic functioning, each local branch will have its director and an Academic Coordination Committee.

4- The administrative liaison offices established in Bolivia and in countries where there is no national office depend on the Central Office. The others depend on the respective national headquarters, they have the authorities that establish the respective regulations.

Mission

The Simón Bolívar Andean University, as an international academic body of public law of the Andean Community, promotes the Great Latin American Homeland through knowledge, carries out postgraduate training and qualification processes, contributing to the training of leaders in the processes of transformation and liberating integration: economic, political, social, technological and cultural aspects of the countries of the Andean, Latin American and Caribbean Region.
