Background
Protected by the legal status of the Foundation for Strategic Research in Bolivia (PIEB) and Ministerial Resolution 223 of July 23, 2002, issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, it began its activities that year as a Postgraduate University. In 2011, through Supreme Decree No. 1077 of November 28, the Plurinational State ratified the opening and legal operation of the University.
Mission
Contribute to the comprehensive development of the country, through the training of human resources with academic excellence, capacity for social research and pedagogical innovation, and the use of research and public policy instruments that respond to the requirements of the country and the contemporary world in teaching, research, political and ethical action.

The U-PIEB has as a reference an intercultural society, fully developed with economic and social equity, with active participation of civil society in equal conditions and opportunities, where research and higher-level academic training are socially recognized.
Objectives
1- Train human resources for the integral development of the country, with academic excellence, strategic vision and social commitment. 2- Contribute to the development of national critical thinking based on empirical, strategic and theoretical research. 3- Deepen the use of methodologies, techniques and instruments of qualitative and quantitative research analysis, in order to contribute to the quality and excellence of research.
