Locarno is a famous tourist center of the canton of Ticino, located on Lake Maggiore at the foot of the Swiss Alps. It is called the “city of peace” not only because of the famous international peace treaty signed here in 1925, but also because of the lakeside recreation area, luxurious subtropical parks and the huge central square Piazza Grande, where many events of international importance take place. Among them is the world-famous Locarno International Film Festival, one of the five most important in Europe.┬áCheck localbusinessexplorer for more cities and countries in Europe.
