Hancock County is located in the state of Maine, in the United States. It is bordered by Washington and Penobscot Counties to the east, Waldo County to the south, and Knox County to the west. The county has a total area of 1,542 square miles and is home to a population of approximately 54,000 people.

Notable people of Hancock County, Maine

One of the most famous figures in Hancock County is singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles. Born in Eustis, Maine, she has achieved great success with her music, winning Grammy Awards and selling millions of albums worldwide. Another well-known figure is actor Patrick Dempsey, who was born in Lewiston and attended school in nearby Turner. Dempsey is best known for his roles on Grey’s Anatomy and Bridget Jones’s Diary.
