Green River College is named for the Green River, which flows through the city of Auburn, and functions as a two-year, public college. It offers its international students various degrees in academic programs with which they can, if they wish, go on to a university and complete the third and fourth years of a corresponding bachelor’s degree. They are supported by competent teachers, as well as by so-called student advisors, who can help with any questions or problems that may arise. If the knowledge of English is not sufficient for admission, the students can take part in an English course.
The great advantage of a slightly smaller college like Green River College is that the classes are smaller and the teachers therefore have more time for each individual student. In this way, the first learning successes are achieved more quickly. In addition, studying at a community college is usually even cheaper than a comparable course at a university.

The college town of Auburn
Auburn is a small town in the US state of Washington with a population of almost 70,000. It is now almost a suburb for the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue area, which is not far away at 15 to 40 kilometers and is very easy to reach by public transport. The same goes for Puget Sound, which is also nearby.
In addition to the surrounding modern metropolises, Auburn has retained its historic small-town charm.
Both the White River and the Green River flow through the city. There are also countless green spaces, parks and hiking trails, and the weather is mostly mild. The average temperatures range between 17 °C in summer and 7 °C in winter.
For example, free time can be spent shopping at the SuperMall of the Great Northwest, trying out the Emerald Downs Racetrack, visiting the White River Amphitheater or the White River Valley Museum, watching a football game, enjoying the great outdoors and much more. Many historical buildings such as the Auburn Post Office or the Olson Farm from the beginning of the 20th century can also be admired in the city. In addition, there are many markets such as the Farmer’s Market or you can visit one of the galleries or exhibitions.
Those who are less culturally interested can also pursue various sports or visit the zoo. There are also concerts and cinemas, but when it comes to nightlife in Auburn you don’t have to do without anything either and you can visit restaurants, bars or clubs.
