Aspen – cheers among celebrities!

Whether you’re a fan of downhill skiing or snowboarding, nowhere in America do you do better than in Aspen, Colorado. The resort, which has become a Mecca for skiers from all over the world, can be found on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains, near the Snowmass area.

In the past, this charming town was the epitome of luxury, snobbery, and only members of higher society could travel here. However, this is no longer the case today, anyone who has some of the thousand crowns “extra” can go to Aspen. Nevertheless, it is also possible to come across accommodation and services at a reasonable price. In the 19th century, silver began to be mined here, which significantly contributed to the development of the town. Today, Aspen is one of the most popular and expensive ski resorts in the United States. The average snow depth here is around an incredible 7.62 meters. Of course, there is a beautiful white powder, into which it falls like a quilt.

Under the name Aspen, there are four mountains with ski areas: Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Snowmass and Buttermilk. Each area is something different, something special. Together, they provide skiers with 509 km of pistes of all levels of difficulty and various lengths. Skiers on the slopes are taken care of by 46 cable cars and lifts, which will take them to a height of up to 3818 meters above sea level. The cable cars and lifts carry over 48,000 people per hour without waiting unnecessarily in queues. In addition, the individual resorts are connected by bus, which is provided to visitors free of charge.

Aspen Mountains
This ski resort is located at 3,417 meters above sea level directly above Aspen Park. A mixture of wide slopes and slopes with muldas is prepared for skiers. Difficult and extreme slopes await experienced and professional skiers. The area was opened in 1947 and boasted the longest lift in the world. In 1950, Aspen Mountain became the first American resort to host an international skiing competition. None of the local slopes are marked as easy, as most of them are steep slopes.

Snowmass is an ideal place for snowboarders, this resort is the largest and most diverse of all. Next to the Aspen Mountains, a 25-minute ski bus ride away, it is still a bit neglected, but it is trying to attract the attention of young people in particular. Advanced skiers will also enjoy it, as there are several popular black trails, the most famous of which are Powderhorn, Slot and Zugspritz. The Big Burn ski slope over a kilometer wide is also interesting. Thanks to the wide trails, Snowmass is famous even among lovers of carving style.

The area is more suitable for less able skiers, who can expect wide and gentle slopes complemented by a few bumps. It is also a great place for freestyle snowboarders. You can also let small children come here, because there are only green and blue slopes of the least difficulty. The area is complemented by a simple terrain park designed for teaching. Kids will also appreciate the playground called The Fort Frog, which is a life-size wooden fortress.

Aspen Highlands
The Aspen Highlands is the busiest and most visited part of the area. There are terrains of all levels, which are interconnected. This made skiing possible for both experienced and beginner skiers. The sought-after place is the top of the so-called Highland Bowl at an altitude of 3,600 meters, where extreme skiers export every day. From the top, they can go down the fresh and untouched plains down.

In the center of Aspen and Snowmass, you can unwind from exploring the local boutiques, souvenir shops and luxury clothing. There are countless shopping and cultural opportunities. You can always get to every restaurant, bar, shop or hotel quickly and without any problems. However, these places also have their romantic appearance, a walk through the cobbled streets in the city center with a view of the mountain giants will surely enchant you. If you prefer cross-country skiing, Aspen is the right place for you. Endless groomed trails lead through the beautiful snowy landscape.

If you have children, be sure not to be afraid to take them to Aspen. The offer of entertainment is unbeatable for them here. They can enjoy and pet the domesticated deer in the corral, or watch a snowman break the snowboard with a sound. Snow tunnels, ski jumps, forts, bumps and slalom will certainly not only delight children, but their parents can also really enjoy themselves here. But beware! Adults are only allowed to enter if accompanied by children!

Aspen has become a popular place of recreation and relaxation for many actors, music and political stars, who have several million exhibition houses built here. If you are a little lucky, you can meet Jack Nicholson, Vala Kilmer or the singer Cher. We will not know whether the beautiful surrounding nature attracted them or just the fame of the resort. If you want to experience a truly exclusive holiday and at least feel like a Hollywood celebrity for a while, visit Aspen!
