The climate of Brava
Brava is one of the Leeward Islands of Cape Verde. This archipelago is known as the Sotavento, Brava is the smallest island of this archipelago. The entire island forms a municipality and just under six thousand people live on the island. Most of them in one of the villages. Nova Sintra is the largest and most important town on the island. There is no airport on the island, for the supply of goods and passenger transport the island is entirely dependent on the ports at Furna and Fajã de Agua. From Furna it takes about an hour to sail to São Filipe on the island of Fogo. From Fogo you can fly on to one of the islands with an international airport. Due to the poor accessibility of Brava, there is little to no tourism on Brava. The climate of Brava is comparable to the other islands that belong to the Leeward Islands of Cape Verde. The average daytime temperature fluctuates around twenty-five degrees Celsius all year round and really cooler days do not occur throughout the year. The annual precipitation figures are very low, only in September there is a small chance of some days with precipitation. When it rains on Brava, it is usually short-lived.
