The future of USB, it is undoubtedly the USB Type C. We had not yet had the opportunity to test products that have such connectivity. Well with the USB Hub 3 Marsboy brand that we present here is done. For this test, we offer in addition to our article, a small video presentation.
Packaging is reduced to its simplest form: a plastic bag! At the same time, nothing is missing. We had the hands version 7 USB 3.0 ports, but know that there is also a version 4 USB 2.0 ports.
Operation Hub Marsboy
Each port has a switch. This can be handy if you plug a greedy hard drive to feed only the chosen port and thus to optimize the distribution of energy.
You should know that external power can be connected to avoid this type of problem. The hub is large enough, this allows a distance between each port. However, too large USB key will touch nonetheless.
For connection on the computer, it will have the latest version of the USB ports: Type C, a connector of the size of a micro-USB, but reversible.
No drivers were required for operation. Each USB 3.0 port has a switch and a blue LED indicating power. From 4 USB, detection was a bit random in our tests. We were also a little disappointed recorded flows.
- Transferring a Sandisk Extreme SSD key to a 80 MB / s instead … We waited twice.
- Transferring a key to the other on the hub (it is rather at the speed of USB 2.0)
Aside from these minor complaints, it works properly for a price that is within the standards for this type of product. The Hub Marsboy 7 USB 3.0 ports is sold on Amazon at a price of € 19.99.
