Oris– clear positioning in the formula 1-environment
As TAG Heuer maintains the Swiss brand Oris their racing image and presented a limited edition carbon fiber watch for Williams formula 1 driver of Valtteri Bottas recently:
Cabinet is made of lightweight carbon fiber, while Crown, pushers and light coated titanium bezel. This is very good portable despite 44 mm diameter. The chronograph comes with a modified ETA Valjoux 7750 and costs just over €4000.
Oris is long-time partner of the formula 1 Williams team and the logo is of course also the cars in a prominent position:
The Oris watch brand supported the Williams Racing team since 2003 and thus exploited the advertising possibilities of the formula 1 environment sent to build of a sporty image.
Tissot– for motorcycle enthusiasts
The related to the Swatch Group brand Tissot moves communicative also strongly in the field of motor sports, but rather focusing on MotoGP (“official timekeeper of MotoGP”). So, E.g. recently won the reigning MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo as an affiliate:
But the German motorcycle racer Stefan Bradl is partner of Tissot and has bought on the basis of the Tissot T-race limited edition a Black-Red-gold get:
The quartz Chronograph on its dial and Caseback are the initials “SB” and Stefan Bradl bib 6 reflected measures about 45 mm. Entliehene motorcycle racing details such as the bezel in the brake discs look, handle style footpegs or the counter based on a faucet are significant details.
Especially cool I find also the box in helmet format, for Tissot T-race models typically is delivered:
By the way: Tissot PRS 516 has a (relatively) low-cost alternative to the classic TAG Heuer Carrera in the portfolio. The watches at Centralledwatch.com are visually quite similar, the PRS 516 but is no simple tribute, but also has historical roots in the 1960s. Two advertisements of the time:
The price range in the model series PRS 516 ranges from approximately €400 a Quartz version (42mm diameter, as well as Sapphire) up to over €1000 for the automatic version with chronograph functions.
Outside of motorcycle racing, the watch brand Tissot rages but also in other sports such as table tennis or cycling. Tissot 2016 including official timekeeper of the tour de France is so. Refer to an another blog post from me:
Certina– sporty watches in the middle price segment
Also a brand of the Swatch Group, which positioned itself some sense Motorsport, models but clearly classical remains as Tissot: since 2015, for example, the Swiss Uhremarke Certina is official timekeeper of the ADAC GT masters and official partner of the Abu Dhabi total world rally team, one of the best-known and most successful teams of the rally sport.
The collection of Certina reflects the sporty watches models such as in the DS podiumseries reflects, where move mainly models with Quartzwerken for around €500.
Certina could win one of the erfoglreichsten biathletes as brand Ambassador also 2011: Ole Einar Bjørndalen. The professional athlete has won numerous titles and medals at Olympics and World Championships. He is therefore rightly celebrated as a national hero in Norway…
Of course, Certina Ole Einar Bjørndalen has bought a limited edition: the DS-2 – Ole Einar Bjørndalen-limited edition. This simply redemptions watch with Sapphire Crystal case diameter is 40 mm and it is waterproof up to 100 meters and suitable for swimming, bathing and showers. In the watch, a Swiss ETA quartz movement ticking, which is why the price is acceptable €510. Here are two images (© Certina):
