Eco Ship Filter Water Bottle Review

I would like to believe the best of humanity, but when it comes to the fountains, I don’t take risks.

That’s what the Eco Ship Ultra Lite water filtration system for Bottle , for germaphobes, adventurers, and everything in between. Although the Eco Vessel does not filter out all of the water transport of bacteria and viruses, it is doing a good job to remove chlorine and other bad tastes and odors, as I have noticed, when testing it out.

This bottle of Eco Vessel is like a normal reusable water bottle – but much better than the reusable water bottles you get for free in the random events, in which the companies ‘ logo slapped on them. First of all, because the water filter. And it’s pretty durable. Here’s my unfiltered thoughts on the bottle:

Pros:

  • Contains the filter a good 100 gallons, or about 550 refills
  • Can be used without a filter, extra straw comes with
  • Lightweight, large capacity, 25 FL. oz.
  • Easy to clean
  • The play proof
  • Made in the USA
  • The filter is antimicrobial treatment is unnecessary to clean the filter
  • No BPA, phthalates, There Is BPS (in other words, it is a non-toxic)
  • Is machine washable (just a bottle, no filter)

I had to admit, in my testing process for this bottle of water is far from extreme. I have been using it as a normal human being would be, when it’s the gym 3 times a week, when it with me in the car business, and on the train.

The most important thing that I like about this bottle is that it is a filter. The filter is made of “coconut shell carbon” and does a pretty good job of getting rid of bad tastes in tap water. I go to more accurately filter the “cons” section.

If you don’t feel like using a filter, you can easily switch it off a normal straw and ta-da you have a stainless steel bottle of water like those of WaterBottlesShop.

Even without a filter, this Eco Vessel bottle is not such a stupid free water bottle – it is a solid, durable and really something worth spending moolah on site. Eco Ship has a large capacity and characteristics of silicone flip top spout. The bottle is also fully waterproof, and I tossed it in my backpack upside down without it ever leaked.

How to set the Filter Up:

Before you use the bottles, I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to flush the filter out, so here is some information on what you should do when you first get your Eco Ship bottle, directly quoted from a representative of:

The filter is a carbon layer. The first gallon that goes through the filter is a grey color that washes through some extra carbon. It is safe to drink, but most people do not make it to the skin. What you want to do is take a gallon of water before drinking and gray color will go away.

I rinse my filter out at first, but I did not notice any gray color and the flavor was completely normal.

The one thing that you may want to know the filter is that it displaces the water, i.e. water capacity 2 oz bottle 23 oz with the filter, not a huge difference.

Cons:

  • Hard drinking water
  • Water filter does not protect users from bacteria, viruses, or bacteria
  • Personal preference – I really don’t like the straw

Sipping from a bottle of Eco Vessel filter, you will have enough strength to first suck the water up the straw against the force of gravity, using enough suction to pull water through a carbon filter in order to get the water into your mouth. It takes quite a bit of work.

There could be an easier way if Eco Ship tuned design, build the filter bottle cap, to get rid of the straw, then made the unfiltered water can flow through the filter and the spout through the Cork in the bottle when the bottle upside down, through the force of gravity.

One thing that I was pretty disappointed with the Eco Vessel filter had it does not protect users from bacteria, viruses, or bacteria. This is some information taken directly from the Eco Ship in a bottle, the description of the product:

Caution: the FILTER does not protect users of the food-borne or disease-causing bacteria, VIRUSES, GERMS or disease-causing bacteria.

If you are traveling outside of the US. or the highest level of protection, we recommend consulting a travel expert before the filter. It may be necessary to use additional water purification tablets or drops of the area where you are on the way.

This means you will not be able to scoop up some of the murky water puddle in Indonesia, a drink of water through the filter and wait for a living. However, the filter removes more than 99% Giardia and Cryptosporidium, which are parasites that cause waterborne diseases.

As a side note, I got really sick (think fever, a stomach virus and cold at the same time) while visiting Jakarta, Indonesia after drinking a milkshake. I was sick for a couple of days, threw up and had to be pretty useless for that time period. Note to self: do not drink milk shakes in Indonesia. It was tasty though.

So if the filter does not filter the bacteria, viruses, and bacteria, what it filters?
  • Unpleasant taste
  • The parasites
  • The bad odors
  • Chlorine

This filter is likely to protect you from your hose for water (which contains heavy metals and plasticizers), and probably not the last cells infested murky puddles.

Good taste are nice, but I’d still like the idea of something a little more protection against bacteria. I have a feeling that having any item, or bacterial filter a sort of blank with the filter, especially the bed and expect to come across a dodgy water. Aparently the LifeStraw, a straw-shaped portable water filter can filter out all of the water transport bacteria without chemicals, even though I have not tried it.

I would like to think that the Eco PUR Pitcher filter of the ship like that. Both to remove some of the bad taste, but do not quite seem to have the filter in the water mixed with feces – is it any of the filter is supposed to be.

Verdict:

The Eco Ship Ultra Lite water filtration system for Bottle is very well done a water bottle with a few blips here and there. The extent to which the filter will be able to filter out bacteria and other dirty stuff is a bit disappointing, but this is a good choice for those who are looking for a reliable bottle to bring to work or the gym. It is cast, there is a good sized capacity and is completely non-toxic.
