Matias Duarte: I’Ve Only Got a Third of The Way of What I Want for The Android Interface

With Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) marked the foundations of the new Android interface thanks to the Holo subject and source Roboto, interface that was improved with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) but who still has to improve quite according to Matias Duarte, the interface and the Android user experience Manager.

Specifically Matias Duarte said that they still have much work to do, and that according to him, only has Android got a third of the way with regard to consistency, responsiveness and polished interface.

These statements are in response to an article published by our colleagues from Android Police that criticize the inconsistencies in the interface and user experience that have been finding in Jelly Bean, as the confusion of the back, button sizes in the icons of applications, different designs in applications of Google to do the same, or icons and buttons that don’t do what they should.

We remind you that the Android interface won first prize to the platform with the best interface in the UX Awards 2012 and makes Matias Duarte appeared a few days ago in a list of 50 top designers that shape the world.
